Each project within the ODCSSS will run for 12 weeks during the summer break. The two host Universities (UCD and DCU) will provide access to library and sports facilities (pool, gym, indoor and outdoor sports), laboratories and technical support. Both academic institutions’ disability support services offer a range of learning support to students registered with the service and it will be available for the summer school students.
Funding available for UDCSSS students:
- Each student will receive a tax-free stipend (where applicable) of €300 weekly
- A contribution may be made towards travel expenses for international students (€300 for students from EU and €800 for students from outside the EU)
Eligibility:
Odysseus is targeted towards undergraduate students approaching their final degree year. However, students earlier in their degree programme are also eligible to apply. In order to be eligible for Odysseus you should fit each of the following criteria:
- Registered for a University Bachelor’s degree at a school of computer science or related area and
- For students whose education is not carried out through medium of English must satisfy the following English requirements:
o A minimum score of 600 TOEFL (250 computer based, with test of written English at +475) or
o 6.5 IELTS (minimum of 6.0 in each band).
Please note that MSc or PhD candidates and undergraduate students who have completed or are currently completing their final year of undergraduate study are not eligible for this summer school. This means, if you are currently in the fourth year of an undergraduate degree or you are a postgraduate student you cannot apply for this program.
