Thursday June 4th
9am all students meet at UCD CASL (casl.ucd.ie) to attend this major event:

College of Engineering, Mathematical & Physical Sciences
                         ** Innovation Day **

This special event will focus on the vitality of innovation as the third pillar, alongside education and research, within the College where the UCD scholars are based.

The Innovation Day will demonstrate a selection of recent successes by our research and academic staff at transferring aspects of their research activities into industry.

The morning session will be in the form of a discussion and will include presentations from staff to share their experiences across a range of innovation initiatives from creating intellectual property in the form of exploitable patents and licenses, to  establishing campus companies.

The afternoon session will be opened by UCD President, Dr Hugh Brady, introducing guest speaker Professor Dieter Spath, Director of the Stuttgart Fraunhofer, who will give a lecture on Innovation Processes and the Fraunhofer Experience.  This will be followed by an open poster session at which recent and current research activities that have commercial relevance will be exhibited.

Friday June 5th
9am UCD and DCU based scholars attend their respective host institutions.
