ODCSSS 2006 overview

ODCSSS had 17 students in 2006 who selected from a list of 34 project proposals, as submitted by research investigators from both UCD and DCU. These projects were clustered in 4 themes of "Speech and Language Processing, Imaging and Visualisation, Pervasive Computing and Software Engineering".

The ODCSSS (Online Dublin Computer Science
Summer School (http://www.odcsss.ie)
(an SFI funded UREKA site) will organise its final
Demo and Poster Presentation Day on Friday
August 21st, 2009 from 13:00-16:00, B106
Computer Science Building, UCD. The Schedule for
the day can be found below.

This year our final research day is being co-located
with AICS 2009 (http://aics.ucd.ie/), with delegates
from the conference attending the event.

Lunch will be served during the event. We kindly invite

Currently in its fourth year, funded by the SFI and
supported by DCU and UCD, ODCSSS is a 12 week
research internship program with 18 undergraduate
students from over 10 countries. These students were
supervised by 26 academics and mentored by a large
 number of postgraduate students from both UCD and DCU.

This year's ODCSSS research theme is: "Technologies for
Bridging the Digital-Physical Divide". Projects include "Sensing
Handshakes for Social Network Development ", "Sensing
Learner Interest Through Eye Tracking", and "Using Evolutionary
Methods to Play a Sound Synthesizer and Microphone " among
many more.
